SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:
-The WP Class of '29 After Prom Committee will be selling lotus drinks THIS FRIDAY, September 12 at the Varsity football game in Sciota! Be sure to bring $5 to cool off with a lotus, support the class of '29 After Prom, and support the Cyclone football team!!
-It's time for the Staff Summer Reads Challenge!! If you think you know your teachers, make sure to stop by the Media Center to place your best guesses on what books they read over the summer. Grab a sheet off the desk and use the display on the bulletin board to fill it out. Put your guesses in the purple box when you are finished. The Challenge is open until Friday and there will be prizes for our winners!!
-Reminder - Students should keep their cell phones off and in their locker not in their pocket.
HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Congrats to the varsity Lady Cyclones on their win last night in Astoria against South Fulton.
The scores were 25-14 and 25-15.
The girls had a very well-rounded performance, with contributions from players all over the floor. Alexa Barkley led the team with 7 kills, followed by Madelynn Sulivan and Niah Zimmerman with 6 kills each, and Alyvia Barkley with 4 kills.
Madelynn Sullivan had 19 assists, and Macy Branch had 2 aces and 9 points scored from the service line.
Madelynn Sullivan led the team with 10 digs and 2.5 blocks; Abby Starbuck had 6 digs, and Macy Branch, Niah Zimmerman, and Alyvia Barkley had 5 digs each.
The girls take the floor again on Monday night against Peoria Heights at 6pm. Good Luck ladies!
-The Tabletop Gaming Club will meet Tuesday after school until 4:00 in Mr. Chatterton's room. If you can't make it but would like to know more talk to Mr. Chatterton.
-The Science Club will meet Thursday after school in Mr. Chatterton's room until 3:30. All are welcome. If you can't make it or have any questions please see Mr. Chatterton.
-All Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors who are planning on participating in Iron Man and Powderpuff must sign up. There will be a sign up sheet on Mrs. Hepner's door. Please remember that there needs to be a minimum of 5 guys to be able to participate in Iron man and 8 girls to be able to participate in powderpuff. Please get signed up and help bring your class to a victory! Remember t-shirts are required for this event and order forms need to be in by this Friday! If you have any questions please let Mrs. Henry or Mrs. Hepner know.
-High School Students - The Homecoming Dance is on Saturday, October 4. If you are seeking to bring a non-West Prairie student, you must submit the Guest Request form by Friday, September 26. Pick up a copy of the form in the front office.

The National Honor Society blood drive is less than a week away. If you are 16 years or older and would like to sign up to help save a life please contact Mrs. Overstreet or a NHS member.
Seniors - check your school email for a message about retaking the ACT. The early registration deadline for the next test is today, September 12.
Juniors & Seniors - the Illinois Regional College Fair will be held Monday, September 15, from 6-7:30 p.m. in the WIU Student Recreation Center, 1001 W University Drive, Macomb. Students can register through StriveScan to quickly and easily share their information with the schools attending. Check in with Mrs. Overstreet that night and earn an incentive from your English teachers!

Attention Sophomores--Sign-up to work the Labor Day Yard Sale for the After Prom fundraiser. The sign up sheet is on Mrs. McGrew's door.
Class of 2028: WE NEED YOU! We have many open positions at the Lemonade Shake Ups to help fundraise for prom! You can sign up via the Google Form or the sign-up sheet in Mrs. Beckner's office, Room 143.
There will be a Science Club interest meeting on September 3rd, after school in Mr. Chatterton's room. The meeting will last about 15 minutes and is open to anyone interested in joining. If you are unable to attend please talk to Mr. Chatterton.
