-The WP Class of '29 After Prom Committee will be selling lotus drinks THIS FRIDAY, September 12 at the Varsity football game in Sciota! Be sure to bring $5 to cool off with a lotus, support the class of '29 After Prom, and support the Cyclone football team!!
-It's time for the Staff Summer Reads Challenge!! If you think you know your teachers, make sure to stop by the Media Center to place your best guesses on what books they read over the summer. Grab a sheet off the desk and use the display on the bulletin board to fill it out. Put your guesses in the purple box when you are finished. The Challenge is open until Friday and there will be prizes for our winners!!
-Reminder - Students should keep their cell phones off and in their locker not in their pocket.

Congrats to the varsity Lady Cyclones on their win last night in Astoria against South Fulton.
The scores were 25-14 and 25-15.
The girls had a very well-rounded performance, with contributions from players all over the floor. Alexa Barkley led the team with 7 kills, followed by Madelynn Sulivan and Niah Zimmerman with 6 kills each, and Alyvia Barkley with 4 kills.
Madelynn Sullivan had 19 assists, and Macy Branch had 2 aces and 9 points scored from the service line.
Madelynn Sullivan led the team with 10 digs and 2.5 blocks; Abby Starbuck had 6 digs, and Macy Branch, Niah Zimmerman, and Alyvia Barkley had 5 digs each.
The girls take the floor again on Monday night against Peoria Heights at 6pm. Good Luck ladies!
-The Tabletop Gaming Club will meet Tuesday after school until 4:00 in Mr. Chatterton's room. If you can't make it but would like to know more talk to Mr. Chatterton.
-The Science Club will meet Thursday after school in Mr. Chatterton's room until 3:30. All are welcome. If you can't make it or have any questions please see Mr. Chatterton.
-All Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors who are planning on participating in Iron Man and Powderpuff must sign up. There will be a sign up sheet on Mrs. Hepner's door. Please remember that there needs to be a minimum of 5 guys to be able to participate in Iron man and 8 girls to be able to participate in powderpuff. Please get signed up and help bring your class to a victory! Remember t-shirts are required for this event and order forms need to be in by this Friday! If you have any questions please let Mrs. Henry or Mrs. Hepner know.
-High School Students - The Homecoming Dance is on Saturday, October 4. If you are seeking to bring a non-West Prairie student, you must submit the Guest Request form by Friday, September 26. Pick up a copy of the form in the front office.

Cyclones Keep Rolling!
Our West Prairie Junior High Baseball team is on fire with 4 wins in a row! Today, the Cyclones powered past Macomb with a 13-3 victory in 5 innings — a huge momentum boost heading into the postseason!
The team delivered on all fronts:
Strong Pitching – Ledger got in solid prep work on the mound before Thursday’s regional opener, and Braddock came in pounding the strike zone.
Big Defensive Plays – Brady locked down center field, and our middle infield turned two clutch double plays to keep control of the game.
Total Team Effort – Every athlete contributed to another impressive team win!
We are so proud of the hard work, progress, and determination this team has shown all season. Let’s keep the energy high as we head into regionals!

What a night in the Cyclone Gym! Our West Prairie Volleyball team opened the home season in style, defeating Farmington in two.
The energy was electric from start to finish — fueled by an AWESOMELY loud student fan section that brought the noise and cheered our team to victory. The support from #CycloneNation was unbeatable and made the night unforgettable!

What a Day for Cyclone Nation!
Today we made history with our first-ever West Prairie Home Cross Country Invite at beautiful Argyle State Park — and it was an amazing success!
6 Teams • 90 Athletes • 1 Incredible Course
From start to finish, the energy was electric and the competition was fierce. Our Cyclone runners left it all out on the course, and we are so proud of their grit, teamwork, and determination.
A huge thank you to Coach Percy, Coach Roper, and Ms. Fentem for all your efforts to launch this event. We also are truly grateful for the athletes, coaches, volunteers, and families who helped make this event possible. And an even bigger thank you to Argyle State Park for providing the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable day!
This is just the beginning — the future of West Prairie Cross Country is bright!

A big come from behind victory on Saturday for Cyclone JH Baseball! Boys defeated Mendon as WP scored 4 in the 6th and 4 in the 7th to win 8-7 over unity. Keegan and Rhys took care of the pitching, we finally strung some hits together as the 7-9 batters in our line up went 6-12 which was a big impact to allow our top of line up guys to drive them in!

Show up, dress bright, and bring the energy as we cheer on the West Prairie Southeastern Cyclones! Let’s make the Crank Zone the loudest, wildest, and most spirited student section around.

Attention Sophomores--Sign-up to work the Labor Day Yard Sale for the After Prom fundraiser. The sign up sheet is on Mrs. McGrew's door.
Class of 2028: WE NEED YOU! We have many open positions at the Lemonade Shake Ups to help fundraise for prom! You can sign up via the Google Form or the sign-up sheet in Mrs. Beckner's office, Room 143.
There will be a Science Club interest meeting on September 3rd, after school in Mr. Chatterton's room. The meeting will last about 15 minutes and is open to anyone interested in joining. If you are unable to attend please talk to Mr. Chatterton.

You'll learn all about joining the Junior High Girls Basketball Team! Whether you’ve been playing for years or you’re brand new to the game, this season is your chance to build skills, make friends, and be part of something special.
You’ll get the inside scoop on practice schedules, game days, team gear, and what it takes to be a Cyclone athlete. Bring your energy, bring your questions, and get ready to start an awesome season.
Let’s make this year unforgettable Cyclones!
