Tuesday was a busy day for Cyclone Athletics, with JH baseball, JH softball, and HS golf all competing! JH BASEBALL The Cyclones earned an impressive 11-1 win over Hamilton! Brady Carnes pitched four innings of one-run baseball on just 47 pitches, with Maddox Reed adding an inning in relief. Braddock, Ledger, Levi, and Rhys each had multiple hits, including a 4-for-4 day from Ledger. Jett Zimmerman added the defensive play of the day with a running catch down the left-field line! The Cyclones host BPC Thursday at 4:30 p.m. and Southeastern Friday at 4 p.m., both at Friendway Park. After Friday’s game, they’ll head to WPHS for Meet the Cyclones Night! JH SOFTBALL The Cyclones traveled to Beardstown Tuesday, falling 15-2. Graclynn H. led West Prairie at the plate, going 2-for-2, while Violet W. added two stolen bases. Wednesday’s game against United was postponed in the 4th inning due to weather with the Cyclones trailing 12-9. Information about the continuation will be shared when available. HS GOLF The Cyclone golfers opened their season Tuesday at the Rushville-Industry Invite with a strong first performance, keeping right up with Rushville-Industry and finishing just a few strokes behind. Coach Benson gave the Cyclone Boosters a tour of the progressing football facilities this evening as excitement continues to build for the season. WPSE Cyclone Football Camp is officially underway, with 25 fired-up young men putting in the work and setting the tone for the season ahead. The future is bright! Our practice field has also recently been freshly painted, and the boys of fall are fired up and ready to go. Class of 2027—it’s your turn to be part of the senior banner display!

Every West Prairie senior is invited to participate. Bring the equipment, apparel, or other items that represent your interests, accomplishments, teams, and activities. Students who would like to be photographed in a team uniform will have access to those uniforms in the gym that morning.

This photo day is for the entire senior class, and we want every senior represented. Ms. Zimmerman has reserved August 17 to complete banner photos, and an alternate date is not guaranteed—so save the date and make plans to attend.

Happy birthday to our History teacher, Adam Kerns! West Prairie is so lucky to have you!

Our Cyclone Cheerleading Pre-Clinic Open Gym was a huge success! Every single athlete in this stunt was learning a new position today and doing something they had never done before. In less than two hours, they were able to work together and successfully accomplish something completely outside their comfort zone. Even more impressive than the stunt itself was the teamwork, communication, trust, and encouragement they showed one another throughout the afternoon. Watching these athletes step up, support each other, and embrace new challenges made us incredibly proud. Great job, all! The future is bright for Cyclone Cheer! #WestPrairieProud #CycloneNation :

West Prairie Jr./Sr. High Spring Fine Arts Night showcased the incredible talent, creativity, and hard work of our students. The evening featured outstanding band and choir performances along with a comprehensive gallery show highlighting artwork created by our students throughout the school year.
