We are in our PE roller skating unit here at WPNE. We have some protective equipment that is sent with the skates from that company. Students may choose to wear the pads when roller skating. This does not include helmets. If you want to send a bicycle or skating helmet for your student to wear during the skating unit, please feel free to do so. We do not have helmets.

THE 5 ESSENTIALS SURVEY
It is open and will remain open through March 28th. All parents/guardians are invited to complete the 5Essentials Survey. The 5Essentials Survey identifies five indicators that lead to improved outcomes for all students. Your input on the survey will be included on our West Prairie North Elementary School Report Card. Your responses are secure with no identity of your name. The collected responses will help us to plan school improvements. https://survey.5-essentials.org/Illinois/
Please consider taking a few minutes to share your insights on this survey by going to the link above.

Yesterday we celebrated the top two students in each class who have read the most on their reading logs. There were some ties. They received passports with stickers from the places they've been. We also extra celebrated four third graders who have read over 3,000 minutes which has enabled them to move their little laminated planes around the entire cafeteria and gym area on a trip ALL THE WAY around the world. THEY GOT TO EAT ICE CREAM CONES IN THE LIBRARY. Students land on beautiful continents created by our staff as they progress with their logs. Every 15 minutes of reading is 250 miles towards a trip around the world. Our trip goes through many of the world's major cities. Congratulations to our students who are dedicated to practicing their independent reading!

Please schedule a parent teacher conference.
