Special Guests at the October 25th Board of Education Meeting

The board is honoring their many years of service as the voice of home football games!

Colchester -- Mark Pflieger has been the recognizable voice at home football games for the past 30 seasons. Mark began his career announcing in 1988 for the LaHarpe Eagles where he was teaching at the time. He then went on to be the voice of Thunder football at both Bauman Field and LaHarpe from the first co-op between LaHarpe/Northwestern in 1992 until the consolidation of West Prairie in 2003.

Mark continued as the voice of the Cyclones for the West Prarie/LaHarpe co-op and then as West Prairie stood alone for 2007-2013 seasons. He continued to be the voice for the BWP Sparclones upon its inception in 2014 for all JV and Varsity home games in Sciota through this 2018 season. After years as a teacher, Mark has retired from the classroom and has decided to officially retire from being the voice we have grown to love and expect to hear under our Friday night lights.

In addition, we would be amiss if we did not also thank Linda for her years alongside Mark, working as his spotter. Always watching closely to identify what happened and calling-out the numbers and names of the players, Linda has worked as Mark’s right-hand person for around the last 25 years and he attributes her eyes as a big part of his success up in the box.

So a big thank you to Mark and Linda for their 30 years of devotion to helping make our Friday nights extra special!
