Chromebooks at WPHS

Asus C202s ChromebookWest Prairie High School is set to continue its 1:1 technology program in 17-18, however, students will be issued a Chromebook instead of an iPad which was the device of choice for the last five years.

The district began researching the possibility of changing devices last November when it became evident the state's budget crisis would severely limit West Prairie's ability to enter into another lease for iPads.  After studying Chromebook use in other schools and the associated costs, district personnel determined Chromebooks would be a good fit for the high school at a lower cost and the 1-year-old iPads from the high school could be moved to the middle school to replace their set.

At this time, parents are not advised to purchase a case until the the district technology department determines the best option for our model of Chromebook.  Cases or a protective sleeve will be available for purchase at registration.
