•  Seniors: A paid training camp and potential employment opportunity is available through Morton Buildings.  If you are not sure if college or military is right for you and interested in construction, this is a wonderful opportunity for you!  Applications for the camp are available in the Counseling Office -- apply ASAP!  You must be 18 by June 12th.  The camp is June 12 - July 28, Monday - Friday, 7am - 4pm in Morton, IL.  If you are accepted to the camp, you will be paid $10 / hour.  When the camp is over, job opportunities may be available at a pay rate of $14.50 - $16.00 per hour with medical/ dental insurance and paid sick days/ holidays.

  • Students who will enroll in dual-credit next year: Make sure that you complete your FAFSA to help pay for college! See the FAFSA page on this website for assistance.

  • Juniors: You are invited to complete courses at Western Illinois University during your senior year! Admitted students will receive an automatic scholarship covering 2/3 of tuition and lock in a lower rate for tuition, fees, housing, and meals at WIU.  See Mrs. Shurtz for details.
  • Grief & Hope Retreat for Youth Ages 6-18: This will take place on Sunday, June 11, 2017, from 12:30pm - 4:00pm at the Lakeview Nature Center.  The program includes a Healing Labyrinth Walk, Group Grief Processing Circle Time, and a Clay Memorial Project. This program allows for the opportunity to connect with other youth who are going through a similar experience.  There is no charge to participants.   • Michigan Technological University Summer Programs for Freshmen - Juniors: Students - a wide variety of summer programs are available, from Engineering, Microbiology, Video Game Programming, Psychology in the Real World, to Outdoor Adventures.  Each session is offered during different dates, with the cost at approximately $895 per week-long session.  To learn more, see Mrs. Shurtz, or view:

  • Explore Architecture at University of Illinois Chicago! HiArch is UIC's summer architecture workshop for current high school students.  Explore architectural ways of producing objects and spaces.
    • Week One (July 10-14): Explore Architecture & Design through drawings and models.
    • Week Two (July 17-21): Focus on Model-making & Fabrication techniques in our Project Lab.
    • Cost: $300 (week 1 only); $550 (weeks 1 & 2).
